What is PrintStream’s Segment Tracking?

Large direct mail jobs may number into many thousands or millions of pieces. Tracking and management of these jobs can become a challenge if they are not broken down into manageable segments. As the job is divided into segments that might be processed on several different pieces of equipment, it is advisable to know where individual mail pieces may be located for tracking purposes. The PrintStream Segment Tracking module performs this management function.

Breaking the job down into manageable segments allows for better job control. This module allows users to control production counts per pallet on mailing jobs. A segment record is created which divides packages into individual pallets, or segments, with precise counts, postage rates and mailing destination. This record matches the specifications of a job created in Mail Estimating/Order Entry. The mail job number is entered into the program, and matched to the companion segment record.
